It's housed in a converted primary school with hallways and rooms packed with fascinating objects. A must see for familys with kids.

Maple Mountain Forest Reserve
Virtually next door ( about 300 meters up the road ), is the extensive network of mountain biking and hiking trails in the Maple Mountain Forest Reserve. With over 50 possible routes in the reserve district, There's a lot to explore on foot or by designated mountain bike trail. Many trails lead to the Maple Mountain summit and spectacular views of the mainland coast mountains and gulf islands.

B.C. Forest Discovery Centre
A great family outing. The B.C. Forest Discovery Centre displays a extensive collection of long by-gone era logging machinery and a look into Vancouver Island logging history and present day forest management. It's also a rare opportunity to ride a restored narrow gauge steam train through it's 100 acre site. Periodic closures over winter.
